2010 Tour of Homes Starry Night Downtown Party

2010 Historic Mooresville Tour of Homes

May 22 & 23, 2010

Southern States Mortgage proudly presents the 2010 Historic Mooresville Tour of Homes in partnership with the Mooresville HPC and the Mooresville Museum.  Thanks to Southern States’ support, this year we’re spotlighting six historic homes and,  for the first time, a historic church in Downtown Mooresville.

Hours for the tour are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on May 22 and 1 – 5 p.m on May 23. The weekend will kickoff on May 21 with a Starry Night Downtown party in John Franklin Moore Park.

“The town of Mooresville has such a rich heritage that more and more people are starting to realize,” says MHPC Chair Brent Zande. “The tour of homes is a way to celebrate the town’s legacy and call attention to the role history plays in helping downtown thrive.”

“Not only will Starry Night Downtown help kick off the Tour of Homes, participating businesses and residents will get chance to come together and celebrate Downtown Mooresville and all that it has to offer,” says Kim Atkins, executive director of Mooresville’s Downtown Commission.

Beyond the food and drink, the Starry Night Downtown attendees will be invited to tour our two recently designated local landmark buildings in Downtown, to visit the Mooresville Museum to view plans for its upcoming renovation, and to stop in the Mooresville Depot for a sneak peak at the visiting American Watercolor Society Travel Show.

“With everything going on, the third weekend in May should make Mooresville a strong destination for people in and out of the state to visit.” added Zande.

Tour of Homes ticket prices are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.
